Matusko Dingač 2011 is a beautiful example of Plavac Mail from the appellation of Dingač. Matured in large oak barrels, dark ruby red in colour with purple hues, it is crystal clear, full and rounded flavour, harmonious, tart and sweet.
Note, especially the floral aromas that come to the fore especially in this wine, which is not typical for a Dingač.

Description

This wine is a typical varietal example of Supreme Quality (Vrhunsko) Plavac Mali from the vineyards on the steep seaward facing cliff slopes of the famous EU Protected Domain of Origin, Dingač.

Matusko winery is situated in Potomje, perched on the top of the cliffs of the Pelješac Peninsular, which is north of Dubrovnik and roughly half way to Split in the wine region of Dalmatia.

The wines called Poštup and Dingač are both made from the Plavac Mali grape, but are distinguished in name due to the location of the vineyards along the steep rocky coastal cliffs which are a little north and south respectively of Potomje. Dingač is the prized region, but Poštup wines offer excellent value for this much loved Dalmatian red wine.
